Star Trek Review by DC Tauntaun

Fabulous? Not quite there. Impressed? Absolutely. I was rather impressed with the film as a whole. The selection of actors and writing built enough chemistry to make it believable in regards to the original Star Trek actors. They intertwined the original characters very well into the storyline. The action started right off the bat and really didn't let up except for the "getting to know the characters" part. It also certainly felt like a quality sci-fi film and just not a cheesy television episode. I liked the cheesy television episodes, so don't get me wrong, I was just happy to see that they successfully kept the cheesy charm yet still produced a rough and tough entertaining sci-fi flick. Parents at the beginning may shake their head as the director flaunts Kirk's flamboyance and wonders where the clean innocent show went to, but after the initial character intros, the show falls back into it's core rating element that is mainly thematic elements and violence. The story fits a typical unbelievable sci-fi storyline, but the brisk progress of the film easily helps that to be overlooked. This fit the bill as a good old adrenaline rush with a nice touch bringing back memories of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and the gang.
