A few days on the west coast

The Thornton's trip to the West Coast on very short notice could have been an inefficient collective of energy, but ended up being well balanced and loaded with numerous memories. At the suggestion of the Phelon's, they made sure they visited Oceanside and Cape Mears. Here you can see a shot we got of Vickie and the children having a ball on Short Beach. The only way to really get to that beach was through a small cave built through the cliff from Oceanside beach.
The German Chocolate Cake ice cream and Lemon Bluberry Pie ice cream that they tried at the Tillamook cheese factory was superb. On the other hand when Case had to eat the last half of Elizabeth's Bubble Gum cone, you could see him gagging. The Cape Mears Lighthouse was beautiful, the OSU Marine Science center in Newport was informative, and the Inn at Spanish Head in Lincoln City was a great home base for building sandcastles on the beach, swimming in the pool, and relaxing on the 8th level overlooking the ocean.
Ethan and Elizabeth were in their element as they had smiles from dawn til dusk. We know this trip was more for Vickie to escape the home for a bit, but Case and the children are happy they got to go along.

Oh Steve is so jealous! Lucky for him, the family just booked him a room in a nice resort for a week next summer!
